Compact-ultrasound developer SonoSite of Bothell, WA, posted higher revenues in the company's third quarter and swung into the black for the period.

For the quarter (end-September 30), SonoSite posted a revenue increase of 28% to $68.5 million in the third quarter of 2010, compared with revenue of $53.6 million in the third quarter of 2009. Net income was $942,000, compared with a loss of $241,000 in the same period a year ago.
