Hitachi launches new ultrasound scanner at ASE

Medical imaging vendor Hitachi Healthcare Americas launched a premium ultrasound scanner, Lisendo 880, at this week's American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) meeting in Baltimore.

Lisendo 880 is a premium 2D and 3D cardiovascular ultrasound scanner designed to provide exceptional clinical performance for cardiology imaging, according to the company. The scanner has features such as dynamic 3D evaluation, dual-gate Doppler, LVeFlow for measuring left ventricular function, Eyeball EF for calculating ejection fraction, 2DTT for 2D tissue tracking, and free angular M-Mode (FAM).

It also sports an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display, image optimization parameters such as Hitachi's eFocus and pure symphonic architecture tools, and applications such as eTracking and wave intensity for hemodynamic evaluations. Hitachi Healthcare is also touting Lisendo 880's flexible positioning, adjustable-height panel, and four-point articulating arm.

In other Hitachi ultrasound news, the company announced the signing of a partnership with Terason for the sale and distribution of that company's uSmart 3200T ultrasound system for urology applications. Hitachi Healthcare highlighted the unit at the American Urological Association meeting last month in Boston.

Finally, Hitachi Healthcare is highlighting its No. 1 ranking by MD Buyline as best MRI product line by user satisfaction. Hitachi Healthcare has won the award for the past four quarters.
