ScImage adds PicomEnterprise upgrade

PACS vendor ScImage has added a number of RIS-oriented enhancements to its PicomEnterprise PACS offering.

The new release blends many traditional RIS functions into the core PACS platform, according to the Los Altos, CA-based vendor. As a result of this unified implementation model, customers won't need a front-end hospital information system or back-end electronic medical record interface, ScImage said.

The platform can now manage the entire clinical process, ScImage said. Also, a new workflow engine can provide customer-configurable routing of exam data based on dynamic criteria for specialist reading and workload balancing, according to the firm.
