Philips awarded 2 telehealth contracts

Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, has signed three-year contracts with FirstHealth of the Carolinas, based in Pinehurst, NC, and Mountain States Health Alliance, in Johnson City, TN, for telehealth services.

Philips' remote patient monitoring service will help patients track vital signs while remaining in their homes, and will provide clinicians with information about their patients’ health status.

Philips Telehealth Solutions' at-home devices include TeleStation, which collects and transmits patient vital sign data and enables communication between clinicians and patients, and wireless devices to measure vital signs.

Costs for the programs were offset by more than $700,000 in Telehealth Network Grants awarded to each organization by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
