U-Systems to debut network storage at RSNA

Ultrasound developer U-Systems will introduce its SomoStorage departmental storage offering option at the upcoming RSNA meeting in Chicago.

SomoStorage is designed to store multimodality breast images, including large-volume 3D ultrasound data files, according to the Sunnyvale, CA-based vendor. It provides a new way to view data storage directories; instead of viewing only ordinary, text-based file names, users can access a visual display of graphic-based image galleries for rapid visualization of the file content, U-Systems said.

In addition, a Dynamic Visualization Preview feature enables users to visualize high-resolution thumbnail images from entire study content, including images from all modalities, U-Systems said. An Intelligent Query feature provides for search, import, and storage of imaging exams associated with the patient's medical record number.

SomoStorage is available as a standalone RAID configuration or as a turnkey product, and it's compatible with network-attached storage, storage area network, and other network devices, the vendor said.
