Philips nets PET/CT award

Philips Healthcare has received an order from the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for its Gemini TF PET/CT scanner.

Gemini TF will be used as part of a NIST research project to develop national PET/CT imaging standards, according to the Andover, MA-based vendor. The project aims to allow clinicians to calibrate their equipment to ensure PET/CT image quality and the consistency of data collected from scanners produced by different vendors, Philips said.
