Philips, King's College ink partnership
By AuntMinnie.com staff writers
October 22, 2008

Philips Healthcare and King's College London in the U.K. have signed a five-year research collaboration agreement to develop medical imaging projects with a focus on cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology.

Under the multimillion-euro pact, Philips of Andover, MA, and King's College London Division of Imaging Sciences will explore modalities such as x-ray, MRI, ultrasound, and CT to help doctors navigate a patient's heart during minimally invasive procedures.

Philips and King's College London have partnered in the past on image analysis projects in the areas of MRI, diagnostics, and interventional guidance.

The new agreement will continue collaboration in these fields and will establish new research projects in imaging for cardiovascular disease, cardiac arrhythmias, and pediatric diseases.
