Philips teams with Maquet, debuts cardiac tool

Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, will integrate the Magnus surgical table from Maquet of Wayne, NJ, into its cardiovascular x-ray systems.

The goal of the deal is to create a hybrid operating room for a full range of minimally invasive and open surgical procedures. The companies detailed their plans at this week's Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) annual meeting in San Francisco.

At TCT, Philips also unveiled its 3D Heart Navigator interventional tool, which creates a single image by combining 3D CT images of a patient's cardiac anatomy taken before a procedure with an overlay of live x-ray fluoroscopy information.
