Radiopharmaceutical producer Nuclear Research and Consultancy Group (NRG) said its High Flux Reactor (HFR) in Petten, the Netherlands, is on schedule to achieve full power on September 9.
In its latest update, NRG reported that repairs and maintenance to the molybdenum-99- producing nuclear reactor are proceeding well. Preparation activities for the facility's restart are scheduled for completion by the end of this month.
NRG this week is working to complete reassembly of the reactor components and reinstall control rod drive systems.
The HFR reactor, which produces a significant supply of molybdenum-99 for use around the world, has been offline since February for planned maintenance and repair.
