Biomedical imaging company Cambridge Research and Instrumentation (CRi) has launched inForm, image analysis software used to automate image processing coupled with advanced learning to train the software to process images.The software detects and quantifies tissue structures and protein markers within individual cells, and, using CRi's multispectral imaging systems, researchers and biologists can identify and evaluate multiple markers within a single sample.
By combining multispectral imaging and pattern-recognition image analysis, molecular information from tissue samples is revealed, according to the Woburn, MA-based company. The technology enables researchers and clinicians to quantify multiple disease and drug response markers in intact tissue samples.
The system has been used in preclinical and clinical investigations in numerous research and academic organizations, including the University of Pennsylvania and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
