GE Healthcare has introduced a real-time decision-support offering for physicians and hospitals.Developed in collaboration with partner Intermountain Healthcare in Denver, the application aims to provide real-time clinical data and treatment options to physicians at the point-of-care, according to the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based vendor. Healthcare organizations and clinicians will be able to evaluate their current patient care approach to constantly evolving clinical practice standards, allowing patients to benefit from current treatment options, GE said.
The application facilitates real-time clinical review by capturing data from electronic medical records on a single screen, which signals if there's any variation from accepted practice standards. A pilot version of the software will launch at Intermountain in November, and GE said it will showcase the full package at the 2010 annual meeting of the Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) in March.
