GE helps launch Ontario imaging network

GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., has implemented a diagnostic imaging repository (DI-r) with its Centricity OneView and Enterprise Archive to connect hospitals and medical centers throughout southwestern Ontario.

The DI-r project is a part of the Canada Health Infoway and eHealth Ontario initiatives to create an electronic health record system across the Canadian province and, eventually, across Canada.

Once the project is complete and all hubs are online, the repository will include four local healthcare integrated networks and share nearly 3.2 million imaging exams each year.
