Carestream debuts cardiology PACS offering

Carestream Health has added a new Web-based cardiology PACS to its image management portfolio.

The cardiology PACS provides an integrated platform for diagnosis, image review, and reporting for echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, nuclear cardiology, and electrocardiogram management, according to the Rochester, NY-based vendor.

The PACS allows providers to consolidate isolated cardiac lab systems into a centralized system; users can read cardiology data from any onsite or offsite networked PC, Carestream said. Other key features include structured reporting templates for all cardiovascular applications, measurement tools for echocardiography applications, catheterization reporting tools, and nuclear cardiology features.

The system can also be integrated with the firm's radiology PACS. If so, clinicians on any PC or workstation can access native 3D functionality for cardiac analysis, coronary analysis, calcium scoring, and other specialized cardiac applications, according to the vendor.

The cardiology PACS will be available by the end of September.
