Dilon partners with Terason

Scintimammography developer Dilon Technologies of Newport News, VA, and Terason of Burlington, MA, will combine their respective technologies in molecular breast imaging and ultrasound.

Dilon's breast-specific gamma imaging (BSGI) technology is designed to aid in visualizing lesions independent of tissue density and detecting very early-stage cancers, particularly in women with high risk factors or who present with questionable mammograms.

Terason's t3000 is a portable, laptop-sized ultrasound scanner. When used as a complement to Dilon 6800, physicians are able to move from BSGI to ultrasound without leaving the exam room, according to the companies.
