VisEn adds FMT imaging module, touts study results

Optical imaging developer VisEn Medical has added an FMT Multi-Species Imaging Module for fluorescence molecular tomography (FMT) and related applications on larger preclinical animal models.

The FMT Multi-Species Imaging Module is designed for FMT quantitative imaging on an expanded range of larger preclinical animal models, including rats, hamsters, and guinea pigs. It is intended to be compatible with VisEn's fluorescence imaging agents and will be available later this year, according to the Bedford, MA-based vendor.

VisEn also will present study results from its recently launched Cat B 750 Fluorescent Activatable Sensor Technology (FAST) and Annexin-Vivo fluorescence imaging agents at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) annual meeting in Washington, DC, next week.

The results highlight how Annexin-Vivo 750 enables the rapid in vivo assessment of therapeutic efficacy in key cancer models, VisEn said. In addition, the agent is being used in researching a variety of other pathological conditions involving apoptosis, including stroke, atherosclerosis, myocardial ischemia, and liver toxicity.
