ACR offers imaging appropriateness app

The American College of Radiology (ACR) of Reston, VA, has announced the availability of a smartphone application that provides physicians with instant point-of-care access to evidence-based clinical guidance for imaging decisions.

ACR's Appropriateness Criteria Anytime, Anywhere app features imaging decision support for more than 160 clinical topics, offering an alternative to radiology benefits management companies or computerized physician order entry systems that do not contain the ACR Appropriateness Criteria guidance.

The application was developed in collaboration with Skyscape of Marlborough, MA. It is designed for use with smartphones, PDAs, or the Apple iPhone.
