Siemens adds to Symbia line

Siemens Healthcare has added a single-detector SPECT system to its Symbia molecular imaging product line.

The Symbia E SPECT scanner is designed to be an economical point-of-entry into molecular imaging for financially constrained facilities, according to the Malvern, PA-based vendor. The scanner utilizes the same HD detector first introduced on the vendor's Symbia TruePoint SPECT/CT scanner.

Symbia E can accommodate a wide range of patient sizes, and it can be equipped with special positioning pallets for mammography, Siemens said. It also features a tilting detector for planar imaging. Imaging tools for oncology, cardiology, neurology, and general imaging are included.
