Philips names new CMO

Royal Philips Electronics has appointed Dr. Eric Silfen as senior vice president and chief medical officer (CMO) of Philips Healthcare.

Silfen joined Philips in 2006 and most recently was part of the Department of Biomedical Informatics Research at Philips Research North America.

Silfen has worked with Philips research teams, academics, and researchers in North America and Europe to focus on healthcare research in molecular medicine, computer-aided imaging, clinical systems, and diagnostic evaluations, according to the Andover, MA-based firm.

Silfen will report to Philips Healthcare CEO Steve Rusckowski.
