Hyperfine is collaborating with Athletic Heart Cardiac and Metabolic Testing to bring portable brain imaging screenings to current and retired professional athletes, starting with retired professional basketball players.
The company recently showcased its Swoop brain MRI system during NBA All-Star weekend in Indianapolis. The collaboration saw the technology be used at an athlete health screening event on February 17, prior to the All-Star game. Retired players underwent the new addition of brain screening using the Swoop system to provide clinicians with a better understanding of the individual athlete's brain health, which can help inform medical decisions.
