SNMMI launches AI challenge

The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) has launched a radiomics and machine-learning challenge, with the winner to receive a cash prize and certificate.

The challenge was organized by the SNMMI's AI Task Force and consists of providing participants with a fully anonymized dataset containing radiomics features and outcome or survival data. People who register can use the dataset to train a machine-learning model to predict patient survival and will be requested to externally validate their model with another dataset with blinded survival information.

Model predictions will be evaluated by the AI challenge team, Ronald Boellaard, PhD, of
VU University Medical Centre in Amsterdam and Irene Buvat, PhD, of the Service Hospitalier Frédéric Joliot PET center in Orsay, France.

More details can be found on the SNMMI's website.
